There will be three (3) LONI Management Council (LMC) Advisory Groups (AG) created to provide decision–support data to the MC. AG teams can be tasked by the LMC to perform specific tasks and projects as required.
The first of three Advisory Groups will be the Research Advisory Group (RAG) chaired by the LONI Chief Scientist appointed by the Commissioner of Higher Education. The RAG will provide the LMC with recommendations relative to the utilization of LONI resources for the purposes of scientific research. The HPC Allocations Committee is a standing committee under the RAG whose task is to approve computation allocations on the LONI HPC resources.
The second Advisory Group will be the Economic Development Advisory Group (EDAG) chaired by an appointee of the Secretary of Louisiana Economic Development. The EDAG will provide recommendations to the LMC relative to economic development potentials resident in LONI applications through corporate utilization of the network resources, and technology transfer opportunities resulting from LONI developed research projects.
The third Advisory Group is the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) chaired by the LONI Chief Technologist appointed by the Commissioner of Higher Education. The TAG will provide recommendations to the LMC relative to LONI deployment and infrastructure lifecycle.
Advisory Group membership will be determined by the LMC. Each AG will consist of individuals possessing the appropriate expertise, and will have a diverse membership representative of the LONI community of interest.
