Congratulations to Lance Neal on his appointment as the new Executive Director of LONI!
Lance Neal brings more than 25 years of experience in higher education, most recently serving as the existing Chief Operating Officer of LONI. In his new role, Lance Neal will oversee the entire LONI organization, including strategy, operations, and service delivery as LONI continues its mission to provide a platform of services that empower cyberinfrastructure advancement, scholarship, research, knowledge, care, and public good.
Upon his hiring, Lance Neal released the following statement:
I am writing to express my heartfelt appreciation to the search committee, LSU ITS leadership, and the Board of Regents staff for the confidence they have placed in me to serve as the next Executive Director of LONI. It is both an honor and a privilege to continue serving this extraordinary community.
In the months ahead, our immediate focus will remain on completing the NGI project—a transformative effort that will expand our capabilities and strengthen Louisiana’s research and education infrastructure for years to come. This work, along with our ongoing operations, reflects our steadfast commitment to providing the highest level of service to the institutions, faculty, staff, researchers, and students we support.
